AuthorPilot FAQ

The five things authors ask us most often before upgrading to Pro Author — answered up front, no obligation.

What does Pro Author add that Author doesn't?

Author is the core tier: unlimited BookScore™ validations, 100 AI credits per month, 20 saved projects, PDF export, and priority processing.

Pro Author unlocks the analytical depth Pro readers want: unlimited saved projects, 500 AI credits per month, full AI Beta Readers, the complete 8-dimension BookScore™ history view, the deeper opportunity matrix, premium support, and early access to Phase 2 features. If you want more than a score — you want the reasoning behind it — Pro Author is the tier.

What happens to my past reports if I upgrade?

Nothing changes — your reports stay exactly where they are. Every BookScore™ and Opportunity report is stored against your user account, not against your plan.

Upgrading to Pro Author doesn't move, reprocess, or delete any report you've already generated. Instead, the full archive view, the 8-dimension history matrix, and the richer per-report detail page all activate on every report — past and future. You'll see deeper breakouts on reports you ran as a Free or Author user, with no action required from you.

Is Pro Author a subscription?

Both tiers bill monthly via Stripe, with a 30-day one-time pass also available. See all options on the upgrade page.

The monthly subscription renews until you cancel and gives you continuous access to AI credits and the Pro Author features. The one-time pass is a flat 30 days of the same tier — useful if you want to validate a specific project without committing to ongoing billing.

Either way, every plan comes with a 7-day money-back guarantee: if the tier isn't a fit, request a refund inside your first week and we'll send everything back.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel from /billing at any time, no questions asked.

When you cancel a monthly subscription, your access continues through the period you've already paid — you don't lose the remaining days. Mid-period refunds are not offered outside the 7-day window, but you can stop future renewals with one click and pick them back up later.

If you re-subscribe to Author or Pro Author later, the same account keeps every report, every saved project, and your entire book history. There's no re-onboarding, and you'll be back in the dashboard within seconds.

How are BookScore™ reports actually scored?

BookScore™ runs on a 0–100 scale built from four axes: market fit, originality, audience fit, and genre competition. Each axis is weighted against the idea you submit, and the weighted sum produces a single score you can compare across ideas or against the rest of the marketplace.

The Author tier shows the headline score plus a brief breakdown. Pro Author surfaces the full 8-dimension matrix with per-dimension commentary, the supporting signals behind each axis, and AI Beta Readers feedback that interprets the score in plain language. If you want to understand why an idea scored the way it did — not just what it scored — Pro Author is what unlocks that view.
